Yama Uba is a post-punk duo that reaches into the depths of human experience and brings to light the range of emotion that makes us whole. The sonic palette of duo Akiko Sampson and Winter Zora expresses the complexity of the human spirit, from love to hope to rage, through emotive vocals, shimmering guitar, and soaring saxophone atop explosive bass, velvet synthesizers, and machine beats.

Yama Uba has captivated audiences across the United States, Europe and Japan, sharing stages with darkwave luminaries Kaelan Mikla, Buzz Kull, Light Asylum, Harsh Symmetry, post-punk legends Pink Turns Blue, and Japanese gothic rock pioneers Phaidia. 

Based in the Bay Area, California, this duo released their debut LP, Silhouettes, on Psychic Eye and Ratskin Records.
